Adria Festival . . . less participants as expected

The 11th gathering of European veterans in Split (Croatia), the Summer residence of the last Roman Emperor Diocletian, attracted only one team from abroad – Tadley RFC (England), together with the neighbours from Zagreb (CRO), Vitez (BiH), Ljubljana (Slovenija) . . .

Adria Oldies Festival organisers, the veterans of “Ragbi ´59” are from the very beginning the part of EVRA European Series contributing to the development of our Veteran sport.

The fact is that obviously Covid – 19 had left some “negative influence” on the behaviour of some teams all over Europe . . . ?

In spite of these facts, according to the “report” from R ´59, Zoran Derado, 2023 edition had shown traditional approach to veteran Rugby, with a lot of fun and entertainment during the games and at the “Third Halftime”.

At the “Awarding ceremony” Club Festival “prizes” had been presented to the participating teams (4), as well as two EVRA Series plagues to the Oldest Festival Player – Dennis Tucker (75) presentation photo to follow soon and the special one to Ragbi ´59 as the successful organisers (photo Ragbi ´59 President Sinisa Tartaglia and Team Manager Zoran Derado with EVRA Series Special plaque (from left to right).

For the “final impressions” take a look at the Festival – Photo Gallery of Hrvoje Cizmic, the Official photographer . . .
